TechHire RI & General Assembly Help Rhode Islanders Connect with Tech Talent

Finding tech talent is tough. That’s why TechHire RI and General Assembly have teamed up on an event that will help you do just that.

On Tuesday, March 7th from 3:30 - 5:30pm, employers, startups, developers and community partners will have the chance to meet the graduates from RI's inaugural Web Development Immersive Program. You can check out their capstone projects, share job opportunities at your company, and connect with RI’s growing tech community.

The event caps off a new program that Tech Hire RI & General Assembly launched a few months ago. During this full-time, 12-week program, participants were trained as full-stack web developers, learning languages like Javascript, HTML 5, CSS and Ruby. Along the way, they gained skills problem-solving, planning, modeling, building and consuming APIs, and constructing client-side front-end applications.

They launched this program because they recognized that developing tech talent is key to boosting the local economy and creating jobs. Researchers estimate that by 2018, the U.S. will face a shortage of about 224,000 high-tech workers. We’re psyched to see local organizations like TechHire RI and General Assembly picking up some of that slack.

So don’t miss out on the chance to meet some local tech talent and learn about the great work TechHire RI & General Assembly are doing.

The event is free and you can RSVP here.
