Rhode Island’s startup community is strong in the growing field of health, medicine and wellness, where new technologies, mobile solutions, and an explosion of interest in wearable devices and health-related apps is driving a wave of innovation. Startup activity in this area is not only good for economic growth in Rhode Island--it’s accelerating the development of new solutions that build stronger, healthier communities.
This spring, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island and Founders League are collaborating to showcase nine Rhode Island companies that are pioneering new health and wellness solutions. The diversity of these companies captures the breadth and depth of activity happening across Rhode Island’s startup scene, and highlights the global impact these companies are already having on the world.
The showcase will kick off with a blog series on each of the highlighted companies. At the conclusion, the series will culminate in a meet-up on June 10 featuring leaders from each of the ventures and other entrepreneurs and startups from across Rhode Island.
Our goal is to twofold: celebrate the great work happening across this exciting sector and bring new visibility to opportunities for growth and collaboration. Bonus: several of these companies are hiring and are always on the lookout for top-tier talent!
